How to activate the paypal checkout app

The PayPal Checkout application is only available in some countries

In order to activate the PayPal Checkout application, the first step is to create (if not already done) a PayPal Business account. To do this, go to the PayPal website and click on "Open an account" located at the top right.

On this second step, select the "Business Account" option.

Now you can then enter your email address.

You will then be asked to provide your personal information :

  • Password linked to this account,
  • Last name, first name,
  • Name f the company,
  • Phone number
  • Mailing adress.

You will then be asked for information about your company:

After you have finalized your PayPal account you will then be able to obtain the two pieces of information necessary to activate the PayPal Checkout application on Amenitiz.

PayPal logins

On your PayPal account, you just have to click on the logo representing a gearbox located at the top right of your screen. You will then be redirected to the settings page of your account. You will then be able to retrieve the merchant account ID.

To retrieve the second required ID, click on "More" in the navigation bar and then on "Configure PayPal solution". 2 options will be available to you, you can select the right option to manage PayPal as an additional payment method.

Then select option B and click on the first link "First steps with PayPal payment"

You will then be redirected to the PayPal technical documentation (in English by default), just click on the top right and select "Dashboard".

You will need to have validated your email address linked to your account as well as the other elements requested in your PayPal account in order to finalize this procedure.

You will then be able to create a PayPal application allowing you to make payments directly to your booking engine. To do this, simply click on the "Create App" button.

You will then be taken to the payment application creation page where you will be asked to enter the name you want to give to this application.

You will then be redirected to the page containing your credentials related to this payment application. In order to retrieve the identifiers used on Amenitiz, click on the "Live" button located at the top right (this one will be blue if selected), then you will have to copy the identifier named "Client ID", which we will inform about Amenitiz.

Setting up the PayPal Checkout application

When you have these two credentials, you can return to the Amenitiz administrator area. Click on "Applications" in the sidebar, then on the gearbox on the right on the "PayPal Checkout" line.

You can then activate the application, then enter the two identifiers obtained previously.

Then simply indicate the percentage of the reservation you wish to receive when you make your reservation, then click on "Save".
